On October 5, 2026, the Space Debris Foundation was officially elected as a member organization of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and its General Assembly. At the General Assembly, SDF had the opportunity to share its trailer with both governments and industry from around the world.

This membership represents an exciting step forward for SDF and expands our ability to contribute to international discussions shaping the future of space sustainability, safety, and governance.

Membership in the IAF provides SDF with new opportunities to engage with the global space community and participate in the Federation’s technical committees. Of particular importance to our mission are the Committee on Space Security, the Space Education and Outreach Committee, and the Space Traffic Management Committee.

Our membership also gives SDF a stronger institutional voice within one of the world's leading international space organizations. As SDF continues to expand its international engagement, we look forward to working alongside other IAF members to promote a safer, more sustainable, and more accessible space environment for future generations.

We are grateful to everyone who has supported the Space Debris Foundation's growth and look forward to this next chapter of international collaboration.
